Jaz pa vem za eno dekle (R. Bardorfer) [Sheet music] [Tutorial video] [Play-along audio and video]

This is a song by Rudi Bardorfer from Slovenia, from an album by Ansambel Rudija Bardorferja in 1963 titled ‘Moje Dekle‘. Bardorfer is one of my favourite composers with a very interesting story. Srne – Rehlein (I. Dovžan) [Sheet music] [Tutorial video] [Play-along audio] [Play-along video]

This is a beautiful waltz from Ansambel Mihe Dovžana and later Alpski Kvintet, both sung by Ivanka Kraševec. It was also covered by Laibach in the soundtrack for Iron Sky with English lyrics (“Take me to heaven”). The original title however translates to “Roe deer” from both Slovenian and German. Böhmische Liebe (M. Rauch) [Sheet music] [Tutorial video] [Play-along audio] [Play-along video]

This is a popular Blasmusik song from the early 2010s by Mathias Rausch which translates to “Bohemian Love”. It is a very calm, lovely polka which is played around 110-115 bpm by brass music bands but faster by ‘echte Volksmusik’ (authentic Volksmusik) and Oberkrainer bands.
