Ko se začne pomlad – Wenn der Frühling beginnt [Sheet music]

I came up with this song in the first weeks of spring this year and it translates to “When spring begins”. Hopefully none of it comes from any existing song that I’ve heard before. I hope I might come up with more in the future, as it’s a very interesting and new experience.

This song is suitable for intermediate levels. If anyone happens to learn it, I’d love to hear it! 😍

Zapleši z mano – Ich denk an dich (D. Novato) [Sheet music]

This is one among the many pretty waltzes written by Denis Novato, Slovenian-Italian world-champion on the diatonic button accordion, his album “Gruß aus Triest”. The Slovenian title translates to “Dance with me” and the German title translates to “I am thinking of you”.

Kjer slap šumi (B. Kovačič) [Sheet music] [Tutorial video] [Play-along audio] [Play-along video]

Boris Kovačič wrote countless unique songs that were recorded by Ansambel Borisa Kovačiča along with his wife, iconic singer Stanka Kovačič and son Matej Kovačič from the 1960s through to the 1980s. This waltz translates to “Where the waterfall rustles” and was recorded by Ansambel Borisa Kovačiča with son Matej on accordion in the 1980s one of their last albums “S Polko In Valčkom Po Sloveniji”.

Tam kjer murke cveto – Dort wo das Edelweiss blüht (V. & S. Avsenik) [Sheet music] [Tutorial video] [Play-along audio] [Play-along video]

“Tam kjer murke cveto” was released on Avsenik’s first Slovenian LP record of the same name and is one of Avsenik’s most famous waltzes which instantly became a hit with Slovenians around the world. In English it translates to “Where the Murka flower blooms” which refers to the Slovenian Murka flower.
