Slovenija, odkod lepote tvoje – Slowenien, mein Heimatland (V. & S. Avsenik) [Sheet music] [Tutorial video]

This is one of the most popular waltzes by the Avsenik brothers, from their 1974 album. It is an extremely heartfelt song with a beautiful melody and lyrics describing Slovenia’s unique beauty.

This is a relatively late Avsenik composition from the early 1990s, recorded by Avsenik’s studio ensemble. The Slovenian title translates to “Let’s go to Dobrča”, German title translates to “Thanks for the hospitality”.

“Tam kjer murke cveto” was released on Avsenik’s first Slovenian LP record of the same name and is one of Avsenik’s most famous waltzes which instantly became a hit with Slovenians around the world. In English it translates to “Where the Murka flower blooms” which refers to the Slovenian Murka flower.

Waltz by Vilko and Slavko Avsenik (Ansambel bratov Avsenik) from Slovenia. The translation is “Forests in the moonlight” (from Slovenian) or “Dark forests” (from German). It comes from Avsenik’s 1970s albums “Zlati Zvoki” (Slovenian album) and “Mit Polka Und Walzer Um Die Welt” (German album).
